Itinerary Summary
Day 1 – Travel by water taxi from Dangriga beyond the main Barrier Reef to our private Basecamp on Southwest Caye within Glover’s Reef Marine Reserve. You’ll receive professional instruction, learning the fundamentals of sea kayaking, snorkeling, and tropical water safety. Then you’ll paddle to a nearby patch reef and begin exploring some of the 700 snorkel sites that Glover's Atoll has to offer.
Day 2 – Consider starting your day with an early swim or participate in a sunrise yoga session with our resident yoga instructors. Activities on day 2 include: sea kayaking, snorkeling the inner and outer walls of the reef, and learning to sail a kayak. In the mornings and the evenings we host informative sessions on a range of topics - providing an opportunity for guides to share their knowledge of Belize, the marine environments, and local culture.
Day 3 – For your last morning on Glover's Reef you may choose to don a mask, snorkel, and fins for a final visit to your favorite coral reef, or fly fish on the flats before a motor charter arrives to transport you back to the mainland. You will be picked up in Dangriga and travel a short distance into our rainforest eco-resort. That afternoon you can then choose from the guided Bocawina Rainforest trail walk or the longest rainforest canopy zipline in Central America!
Day 4 – After breakfast, you will go on an exhilarating hiking expedition to Antelope Falls learning about the jungle flora and fauna from your guides. After your challenging hike you will enjoy a picnic lunch while you cool off in the refreshing emerald pools at the top of the falls. From the top you can see all the way to the Caribbean Sea. At this point you can choose to go on a waterfall rappel or just relax and swim in this breathtaking setting. This evening, you may want to sign up for the eco-lodge’s optional nocturnal hike.
Day 5 – Day five is completely flexible. You can stay close to the resort or follow a trail to a favorite pool or waterfall. Your return transportation by van to Dangriga can be arranged for either before or after lunch.
